
The Conservation Levy Explained. The Wildlife conservation fund was established in 1999 by PHASA. The Professional Hunters Association of South Africa. The purpose of this fund is to provide a financial resource to be utilised by the Professional hunting industry to promote the use of South Africa’s wildlife resources through hunting. Objectives of the Fund 1. To secure the future of professional hunting. 2. Fund projects and support key issues vitally important to the professional hunting industry. 3. Fund accredited research projects. 4. Assist with the funding of provincial nature conservation representatives in their task of regulating the professional hunting industry. Firearms Clients are advised to bring their own firearms, although these can be provided ranging from .243 to .375 at a nominal fee. All firearms must be declared at the point of entry where a temporary permit will be issued for the duration of your stay. Cartridges €10 per box of 25 12 gauge.
If you wish to bring your own shotgun then advance arrangements must be made for any special ammunition requirements or gauges other than 12.

Reservations
A deposit of 50% is payable on the booking date. Final payment must be made on arrival of the group in South Africa.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing at least eight weeks before departure. Failure to comply will result in the whole deposit being forfeited.
Liability
Shakawa Safaris cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury or illness that may occur during or on the safari. Any extra expenses incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the client.
Shakawa is situated in a low risk malaria area and it is therefore advisable to consult your doctor before travelling.
