Plains Game Hunting at Shakawa

For plains game hunting we have access to over 100,000 hectares locally and extensive concessions in the Kalahari, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia. Consequently we are confident that we will be able to tailor your Plains Game Safari to suit your precise individual requirements at a very reasonable cost with no hidden fees or charges. Nearly 65% of all the hunting in South Africa is done in our area and with good reason. The area is internationally known for consistently producing, each season, high numbers of quality record book-sized trophies.

What species can I expect to hunt?
The following list is a guide, however if there is any particular species not mentioned here, then please just drop us an email and we will respond directly.

Large Plains Game
Buffalo, Eland, Zebra, Kudu (Greater and Cape), Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Oryx, Nyala, Sable, Roan Antelope, Giraffe and Waterbuck.

Medium Plains Game.
Blesbuck, Bushbuck, Red Hartebeest, Black Springbuck, Cape Springbuck, White Springbuck, Tsessebe, Letchwe, Mountain Reedbuck, Impala, White Blesbuck, and Grysbuck.


Smaller Game and Opportunistic Species.
Grey Duiker, Blue Duiker, Red Duiker, Steinbuck, Klipspringer, Ostrich, Baboon, Vervet Monkey, Warthog, Jackal, Caracal and a host of other smaller cats and mammals.
